MicroTesla Mud Meter
General Description
The MicroTesla Mud Meter is a ruggedized instrument for measuring the magnetic susceptibility, Xm, of drilling mud.
Susceptibility is measured by inserting a volume of mud (340 ml) into a sensing coil. If the mud contains ferrous metal, the metal increases the inductance of the sensing coil. This increase is measured and displayed on the digital readout. Susceptibility is determined by using the provided chart that correlates the readout to magnetic susceptibility.
