General Description

In 2008 MicroTesla rolls out its Digitized Module. This new product incorporates recent product design improvements into a surface mount board design. The new product also adds A to D conversions and a dedicated microprocessor to the module. The module can be customized and will allow the customer to select the accelerometer type and rating based on their specific need.

Key Features of the MDM

The MDM series is MicroTesla’s new platform digital module providing processing capabilities creating an integrated directional mode. The followling list outlines the key features being offered with this product:

  • Length: 13.5"
  • Diameter: 1.3"
  • Compatible with gamma modules
  • Proprietary MicroTesla Fluxgate Magnetometer design
  • Quartz flexure or solid state accelerometer available
  • Compatible with MDM inter-module connector to existing QDT systems

Electrical

  • New MicroTesla SMT electronics packaging with floating board option
  • Operating Voltage Range: 10V - 40V
  • Power Usage: 0.25W Idle, 0.5W on Mags, Accel power dependent on model
  • Digital Interfaces: serial RS-232, serial logic level or SPI
  • MicroProcessor and dedicated power supply built-in
  • K-Factors downloaded directly into Module memory
  • Switching circuitry providing efficient sensor power management

Environmental

  • All boards designed for high-temp applications (175°C)
  • Accuracy: Q-flex Accelerometers (± 0.1° Inc @ 90° Inc, ± 0.25° Inc @ 5° Inc)
  • Accuracy: Magnetometers (± 0.5°AZI @ 90°Inc)
  • Rotation Measurement (0 -120 RPM)
